Across the industry, overall adoption of the Resource Management Office (RMO) concept and centralization of resource management continues to grow. As the professional services landscape evolves, resource managers must continue finding new ways to drive better project and utilization outcomes. This study, sponsored by Kantata, provides data and insights into the current state of RMOs around the globe.  

Key Insights From the Survey

  • 87% of organizations now have a hybrid or centralized resource management model.
  • Resource forecasting accuracy is becoming more prominent as a primary success metric for RMOs.
  • 42% of RMOs have the responsibility or authority to determine what automation tool (PSA/PPM) their organization uses, a 15% increase from 2021.
  • You're never too small to build an RMO; 60% of organizations with fewer than 50 employees report that they currently have an RMO.
  • The number of organizations reporting they have no resource managers is down from the previous survey, now at only 2%.
